A Letter for Emma

LetterForEmma

Dear Emma,

There’s no easy way to say this, but I can’t stay with you any longer. I know the past five years seemed like a time of blissful contentment, but all my smiles were faked, all my gratitude imagined on your part. Summer Updates

I don’t usually do updates (maybe I believe too much in death of the author?), but I had a few things I wanted to point out.

I’ve been a bit busy the past few weeks, and will be the next few. One of the things keeping me busy was a creative writing short course (only twice a week for five weeks, so more of an introduction than anything else), and I’ll post a couple of the not-so-terrible stories that came from that class soon. I’m not sure that I’ll be able to keep up with writing otherwise, but I’ll do what I can. I miss the Tuesday Challenges already.

It has been brought to my attention that a lot of my writing is post-modern, a way in which I didn’t classify my writing before, but makes a lot of sense. That will be a better way of explaining my work than ‘Well, there’s this guy/girl who is a bit weird, and has a funny outlook on life, and this is the plot but it’s much more about the characters and their interactions’.

Thanks for those of you coming back, I’ll keep up the writing and hope you enjoy it!
